This page is dedicated to pre war car emblems and interesting post war emblems I want to present to you the most beautiful and the most rarest emblems on this page. To my knowledge the first enameled radiator emblem was on the Georges Richard1903. From this time on thousands of these nice artifacts were mounted on the radiator to identify the car. APPERSON 4

In 1917 appeared the SILVER APPERSON, a 8 cylinder car styled by C.T. Silver, a NEW YORK car dealer who later applied his styling talents to Kissel cars.

APPERSON 3

This is an original APPERSON emblem from the first years. But this one is missing all blue and white enamel and the two holes are not original. On the backside there is a makers marque from Greenduck Co Chicago.
Pay attention: there are reproductions made by Harry Pulfer in the sixties. They have a flat backside and there is no makers marque.

APPERSON 2

This is the 1923 radiator emblem. The rabbit is gone. The footprints are still there. This emblem is from the Lee Roy Hartung collection which was put up for auction in November 2011. A picture of this and other emblems from Lee Roy Hartung is shown in the book. Antique automotive collectibles from Jack Martells.

APPERSON

The APPERSON automobile company lived from 1902 to 1926. The best year was 1916 with 2,000 units sold. The emblem shows the "Jack Rabbit" to indicate that they were fast and agile. This emblem should be from 1920. On the backside you can read the makers marque. Pay attention: if there is no makers marque it is a reproduction.

I started collecting radiator emblems in 1976. I remember this clearly because I had to give my first car to the local scrapyard. It was a still nice looking Volkswagen squareback. The scrapyard director was interested in my car and I was interested in the emblems of all cars in the field. So a deal was made. And I went home with a bucket full of emblems. Later I've been on swap meets all around the world. I started buying emblems on Ebay in 1999. From this time on prices became comparable for the first time. This made it possible for me to invent a five-star system to categorize emblems based on their rarity and value.This table is applicable for original emblems in a good but not perfect shape. Not for reproductions.

	A common pre-war emblem from a mass producer like Ford, Chevrolet, Chrysler etc. Value: 0$ - 50$
	Still a well known car but no high production quantities. Value: 50$ - 200$
	Here it starts with the highly collectible emblems. Value: 200$ - 500$
	A very rare and very desirable emblem. You have to look years to find one of these. Value: 500$ - 800$
	An ultra rare piece. Prices are sometimes 800$ and more.
