This page is dedicated to pre war car emblems and interesting post war emblems I want to present to you the most beautiful and the most rarest emblems on this page. To my knowledge the first enameled radiator emblem was on the Georges Richard1903. From this time on thousands of these nice artifacts were mounted on the radiator to identify the car. HOL-TAN (1908 MOON) / USA

HOL-TAN radiator emblem

The HOL-TAN Company started as motor vehicle dealer in NEW YORK. In 1909 they built their one and only car: a four-cylinder 25 hp MOON with new coachwork. It was a very expensive car in the $ 3,000 range. In 1909 HOL-TAN returned being a dealership exclusively [Kimes, Clark].

It is so rare, that Harry Pulfer made a nice repro that you can see in this picture.

DIANA MOON

DIANA MOON radiator emblem

The long- lived MOON MOTORS COMPANY was founded by Joseph Moon in 1905. All MOON emblems are very collectable and every collector wants this DIANA emblem. The head of the goodess is silver plated.

There are two original versions: one with the letters MFD BY MOON MOTORS and the other without. I´m showing both.

I started collecting radiator emblems in 1976. I remember this clearly because I had to give my first car to the local scrapyard. It was a still nice looking Volkswagen squareback. The scrapyard director was interested in my car and I was interested in the emblems of all cars in the field. So a deal was made. And I went home with a bucket full of emblems. Later I've been on swap meets all around the world. I started buying emblems on Ebay in 1999. From this time on prices became comparable for the first time. This made it possible for me to invent a five-star system to categorize emblems based on their rarity and value.This table is applicable for original emblems in a good but not perfect shape. Not for reproductions.

	A common pre-war emblem from a mass producer like Ford, Chevrolet, Chrysler etc. Value: 0$ - 50$
	Still a well known car but no high production quantities. Value: 50$ - 200$
	Here it starts with the highly collectible emblems. Value: 200$ - 500$
	A very rare and very desirable emblem. You have to look years to find one of these. Value: 500$ - 800$
	An ultra rare piece. Prices are sometimes 800$ and more.
