VAN HOOL / Belgium

The VAN HOOL Company started in 1955 with the construction of bus bodies. Normally they used FIAT mechanical components. These buses were very successful in Belgium, Holland and France.
They are still in business today.

Until the mid sixties they used a beautiful, large enameled front emblem.  Later these emblems were made in plastic. Today the logo and the script are painted.

VIBERTI / ITALY

The OFFICINE VIBERTI of Turin / Italy were primarily  commercial vehicle coachbilders.

Their MONOTRAL  ( a double-decker bus ) unitary construction buses qualified the Viberti as a make in its own right.

Most VIBERTISs used FIAT Diesel mecanical elements, though they were also made with LANCIA and OM engines and gearboxes.

FADIN / IT

FADIN / ITALY   ( 1924 - 1926 )

The Fabricca Automobili Officine Trubetzkoy of Milano / Italy offered two types of light cars:
the 925 Normale with a high speed of 80 Kilometers ( 55 Miles/pH) and the type 925 Sport with a high speed of 120 Kilometers ( 82 Miles / pH).
It was a very short lived company (1924 to 1926 ). No production numbers known

They used a radiator emblem very similar to the FIAT emblem of that period (1921 - 1925).
Shape, size and colors are almost exactly the same including the design of the letter "A" (although mirrored compared to the FIAT emblem). I assume that by copying FIAT`s design FADIN intended to benefit from the excellent reputation of Italy´s largest manufacturer at the time

HISPANO-FIAT / SPAIN

In 1931 FIAT bought 50% of the Spanish HISPANO factory which was situated in Guadalajara / Spain.                           Now HISPANO was able to produce the FIAT type 514 in licence.
They sold 300 cars only so this automobile and the emblem are extremly rare !

From 1910 to 1918 the FIAT automobile of Italy was manufactured in the United States under licence. The factory was in Poughkeepsie, New York [Kimes, Clark].
Of course they had their own radiator emblem with different colors to the European FIAT. Here you see the American FIAT emblem with a really deep shining red. Hard to find item. This one is from the Lee Roy Hartung collection up to auction in november 2011.

There are so much variations of the FIAT emblem so I`m just starting with this:
It is the 1932 emblem from the type 522. Not so easy to find but still relatively inexpensive.
