NSU / GERMANY ( 1905 - 1977)
The NSU Motor Company ( NECKARSULMER Fahrzeugwerke AG ) started car production in Heilbronn / Germany in 1905. In 1905 NSU had begun to build the excellent vehicles of the Belgian brand PIPE under license. From there they also took over the characteristic radiator design.
But they got famous for their motorcycles. In 1955 NSU became the
biggest motor cycle producer in the world. In 1964 NSU introduced the first automobile with rotary engine. Car production ceased in 1977.
These early NSU vehicles had an oval emblem:

By chance, during my research I found this advertisement for Josef Preissler's factory.
At the top right you can see the NSU emblem. So it was manufactured by J. Preissler.
