MARATHON / JACKSON / NASHVILLE / USA (1908 - 1914) .
In 1910 the company moved from Jackson to
Nashville. This relocation allowed the nice promotional touch of using a
photograph of Nashville`s famous architectural recreation of the Greek
Parthenon in the Marathon catalog together with references to Athenian
supremacy and the historic relevance of the word Marathon in Olympia
history [ Kimes, Clark].
In 1914 the Marathon was taken over by HERFF - BROOKS.
So of course you see a Marathon runner on this nice and heavy emblem:
