MARATHON (1908 - 1914) . In 1910 the company moved from Jackson to Nashville. This relocation allowed the nice promotional touch of using a photograph of Nashville`s famous architectural recreation of the Greek Parthenon in the Marathon catalog together with references to Athenian supremacy and the historic relevance of the word Marathon in Olympia history [ Kimes, Clark].
In 1914 the Marathon was taken over by HERFF - BROOKS.
So of course you see a Marathon runner on this nice and heavy emblem.
