BEAN / Great Britain / Tipton-Dudley (1919 - 1929 )
The British BEAN ( 1919 - 1929) was a remodelling of the PERRY light car, whose manufactures were taken over by Harper Sons & Bean. Their best year was 1922 with ca 4,000 cars sold. 4-wheel brakes were introduced as early as 1925. Despite building a new factory and switching to assembly line production, production and sales continued to decline.
After a new investor was found, the steel company Hadfield Limiteds and the last models were named BEAN - HADFIELD. Nevertheless, the company had to close in 1929.
