CLASSIC Compagnie General des Voitures / PARIS / FRANCE (1924 - 1928 )
I don't know if it was a good idea to name a car company "CLASSIC". On the one hand, it's a nice term, because people have always enjoyed driving a classic. On the other hand, it is a very general term with which one does not associate a specific brand. Anyway, the car company founded in Paris in 1924 was named CLASSIC and offered a mid-size car with a 1846cc 4-cylinder Chapuis-Dornier engine.
The company was already known as a cab company before it built vehicles under its own name, so it can be assumed that the cars now produced were used primarily as cabs, with a touring car also being presented at the 1926 Paris Motor Show.
a real rarity ; to my knowledge, no vehicle of this brand exists anymore. |

Since "CLASSIC" is a very general term and I am not aware of any contemporary photos showing the car with a clearly recognizable emblem, it would have been very difficult to clearly assign the emblem shown here to the Parisian car manufacturer as well.
Fortunately, in 1926 an advertisement appeared in a French magazine promoting the vehicle and showing the displayed emblem. Therefore, even the seller of my emblem did not know if it was a radiator emblem. But now the secret is out.

For more emblems see older posts or top right (list of car makers).
UNBELIEVABLE! What a rare find! Even the ad showing the emblem must have been very difficult to locate. - Not even heard of that car before!
