NESSELSDORFER WAGENBAU / NESSELSDORF / today Czech Republic ( 1897 - 1923 )
The “Kaiserlich - Königliche Wagenfabrik vorm. Schustala & Co.” in Nesselsdorf produced the prototype of a motor car with a German 2-cylinder BENZ engine around 1897. At that time, Nesselsdorf still belonged to the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. Edmund Rumpler was also involved in the construction of this vehicle. This company then became the Nesselsdorfer Automobilfarbrik.
The Nesselsdorfer Automobilfarbrik, managed by Hans Ledwinka, then emerged from this company. The vehicles produced until the First World War had a good reputation due to their quality. After the end of the First World War in 1923, the vehicles produced there were marketed under the name TATRA.
The emblem used the Austrian-Hungarian double-headed eagle:

Very early NESSELSDORFER emblem. I don´t think that it was ever mounted on a vehicle.

The first vehicles after the renaming to TATRA obviously still carried both emblems:
