AUSPER / GB / AUS

 AUSPER / UNITED KINGDOM / AUSTRALIA  ( 1960 - 1962 )

The AUSPER was a short lived racing car made  in the United Kingdom from 1960 to 1962.

So the question is, why do you see a kangaroo on a British car badge ? Also the name AUSPER sounds Australian.

The answer is that it was built on behalf of an Australian company “Competion cars of Australia” and was designed by the Australian Tom Hawkes. 5 stars from the Australian flag have also been adopted.

I couldn't find out how many vehicles were built in two years, but it must have been very, very few.

The five stars on the right of the emblem have a special, Australia-specific meaning: they represent the Southern Cross, consisting of the five stars:  GAMMA CRUX, DELTA CRUX, EPSILON CRUX, ALPHA CRUX and BETA CRUX:
