This page is dedicated to pre war car emblems and interesting post war emblems I want to present to you the most beautiful and the most rarest emblems on this page. To my knowledge the first enameled radiator emblem was on the Georges Richard1903. From this time on thousands of these nice artifacts were mounted on the radiator to identify the car. NAZZARO / ITALY

NAZZARO / FIRENZE / ITALY ( 1911 - 1923 )

The Italian " NAZZARO & C., Fabbrica Automobili " lived from 1911 to 1923.
In 1916 the founder Felice Nazzaro left his firm. Until 1916 about 300 vehicles were built. After WWI from 1919 to 1923 200 more cars were built. So every NAZZARO emblem is a rarity.

The following emblem shown is supposed to be from the early years because of its floral design (art deco). There is no makers mark.

This emblem is from the BREGONZIO collection liquidated in 2009, one of my all time favorites !

As far as racing is concerned, it is worth noting that the Targa Florio was won twice (in 1913 and 1920) in a Nazzaro, the first time with Felice Nazzaro himself at the start. This makes Nazarro an important car brand that is well worth remembering. So I'm really pleased to see this article and the close-ups of the emblems!

I started collecting radiator emblems in 1976. I remember this clearly because I had to give my first car to the local scrapyard. It was a still nice looking Volkswagen squareback. The scrapyard director was interested in my car and I was interested in the emblems of all cars in the field. So a deal was made. And I went home with a bucket full of emblems. Later I've been on swap meets all around the world. I started buying emblems on Ebay in 1999. From this time on prices became comparable for the first time. This made it possible for me to invent a five-star system to categorize emblems based on their rarity and value.This table is applicable for original emblems in a good but not perfect shape. Not for reproductions.

	A common pre-war emblem from a mass producer like Ford, Chevrolet, Chrysler etc. Value: 0$ - 50$
	Still a well known car but no high production quantities. Value: 50$ - 200$
	Here it starts with the highly collectible emblems. Value: 200$ - 500$
	A very rare and very desirable emblem. You have to look years to find one of these. Value: 500$ - 800$
	An ultra rare piece. Prices are sometimes 800$ and more.
