RHODE Motor Co. / BIRMINGHAM / UK ( 1921 - 1930 )
RHODE was a British car manufacturer from 1921 to 1930. In 1921, Mead and Deakin founded the RHODE Motor Company in Birmingham. The company name was inspired by Cecil Rhode ( 1853 - 1902 ), the most famous politician and prime minister in the British Cape Colony at the time.
The first Rhode automobiles, type 9.5, hade a four-cylinder engine with overhead camshaft. The final model was the Hawk launched in 1928. Approx. 2,500 vehicles were built in 10 years.
