The SOCIETA AUTOMOBILI LOMBARDA (S.A.L.) started car production under the name of ESPERIA in Bergamo (Northern Italy) in 1905. It was a short lived company without any commercial success.
They offered boat engines, industrial engines and a four cylinder automobil with 20 or 40 hp.
In the 1908 Padova - Bolenta race an ESPERIA started from the pole position.
In 1909 S.A.L. was liquidated and the license to built the engine was sold to MACAGNO.
MACAGNO continued to build the model ESPERIA until 1913 using his own lovely emblem.
This emblem is from the BREGONZIO collection that was liquidated in 2009. |
