The MIESSE started producing trucks and buses in 1905 in Brussels /Belgium. Since 1932 vehicles were equipped for years with the British GARDNER diesel engines made under licence.
What do you remember from your bible reading ? Guess what MIESSE is showing on the emblem !
It is St. Michael killing the Satan. What a strange idea for an autocar emblem.
I don´t know a second official vehicle emblem with a bible theme. But when you look at the coat of arms from the town of Brussels there you find this motif:
Here comes a much smaller MIESSE emblem. It is from 1933.

In the nineteenforties the emblem was simplified:

| no more enamel, this emblem was etched and painted |
In 1913 the flat radiator of the cars was replaced by a v - shaped radiator adorned by a round enameled emblem showing St. Michel fighting against the satan. You find this motif in the coat of arms of Brussels.
