There had been five ( ! ) American car makers using the name of GARDNER..
The only successful company was the GARDNER of St. Louis / Missouri.
It was in business from 1920 to 1931. The company was founded by Russell E. Gardner.
The GARDNER was an assembled car using Lycoming engines.
The first year they sold 3,736 car. Their best year was 1923 with more than 6,390 cars.
In 12 years 43,406 cars were built.
