The COLE Motor Car Company ( 1909 - 1925 ) is one example of an automobile manufacturer that evolved from the carriage industry. Joseph Jarett Cole started working in the carriage business in about 1888.
In 1909 he presented his first own car , a high wheeler with solid tyres.
Form the second model on ( Model 30 ) the cars became conventional.
In 1915 - one year after Cadillac - the first Cole with V-8-cylinder engine was introduced.
The best year was 1916 with a production of 5,160 cars.
In 27 years more than 40,000 cars were sold.
