DARRACQ ( 1898 - 1928 )
Alexandre Darracq founded the company "Societé Alexandre Darracq & Cie." in Paris in 1898, which produced "DARRACQ" passenger cars until 1928. He was temporarily very successful and even had a market share of 10% in France in 1904.
In 1920 "DARRACQ" was merged with the companies "SUNBEAM" and "CLEMENT - TALBOT". In 1935 came the economic collapse and Antoine Lago took over the French brands "TALBOT" and "DARRACQ", which were also active in England.
The first DARRACQ radiator emblem was made of brass and showed the letters D twice, intertwined and mirrored. Why the letter D is shown twice, I could not find out despite intensive research. In any case, the second D has no relation to the name or the location of the company.
