NAGANT / LIEGE / BELGIUM ( 1900 - 1928)
The brothers Emile and Leon Nagant founded a precision engineering workshop in Liège in 1859, which later became the “Fabrique d'Armes Em & L. Nagant” arms factory.
Towards the end of the 19th century, production was expanded to include passenger cars. The first prototype appeared in 1896 and a replica of the French Gobron-Brillié in 1900. The company produced its own models from 1904. In 1928, the company was taken over by its Belgian competitor IMPERIA.

All NAGANT emblems show the coat of arms of the province of Liège, which in turn is composed of several coats of arms:
The lion-supported market pillar in field 1 naturally stands for the city of Liege (Lüttich).
The silver bar on red in field 2 is a reminder of the former Duchy of Bouillon.
The three lions in field 3 represent the Margravite of Franchimont
The three hunting horns in field 4 represent the county of Horn with the city of Roermond
