DERBY MOTOR CARS LIMITED / WINNIPEG / CANADA ( 1924 )
The Canadian car company with the name DERBY was founded in Winnipeg by Louis Arsenault in 1924. He imported U.S. DAVIS vehicles in parts in order to save import taxes. The vehicles were then put together from the parts and were marked with DERBY emblems instead of those of DAVIS.Their slogan was: BUILT OF THE BEST .
Unfortunately, this business idea was not particularly successful. Remaining business documents show that only 31 vehicles were built. So the emblen is very, very rare.
