MAXWELL / USA

This company started as MAXWELL - BRISCOE  in 1904, founded by Jonathan Maxwell and Benjamin Briscoe. They offered a conventional flat-twin runabouts.  For a time MAXWELL was considered one of the  three top  automobile firms of America along with BUICK and FORD.
In 1914 BRISCOE left this firm to start on his own. MAXWELL continued to make inexpensive four - cylinders with side valves engines  and three-speed boxes.
In 1923 Chrysler bought the MAXWELL factory and the last MAXWELL was sold in 1925.

Here I present you a very early and quite large MAXWELL radiator emblem, showing the colors of the Stars and Stripes. You have to look years to find an original emblem.
